Verifying your domain in Business Manager is essential to ensure that your campaigns comply with Facebook's policies and guidelines. It also helps to establish trust with your audience by confirming that your website is legitimate and secure.

To verify your domain in Business Manager, follow these simple steps:

Before you begin

  • You'll need to have a Business Account in Business Manager.
  • You'll need full control of the Business Account.
  • You'll need to have admin or developer access to your domain.

Step 1: Log in to your Business Manager account
First, log in to your Business Manager account and navigate to the Business Settings menu.

Step 2: Go to the Brand Safety tab
Next, select the Brand Safety tab from the left-hand menu and click on Domains.

Step 3: Add your domain
Click on the Add button to add a new domain and enter the domain you want to verify without any prefixes. For example, enter website.com, not www.website.com or https://website.com. Make sure that the domain matches the website URL that you used in your ad campaigns and then click on Add button.

Step 4: Verify your domain
There are two ways to verify your domain: DNS verification and HTML file upload. Choose the method that is most convenient for you.

  • Add a meta-tag to your HTML source code
    1. Copy the meta-tag you see on your Business settings screen.
    2. Open your website’s home page HTML source.
    3. Paste the meta-tag into the <head>....</head> section of the HTML code, and publish the page.
    4. Go to the root domain of your website, and view the HTML source to confirm that the meta-tag is there.

  • Upload an HTML file to your root directory
    1. Download the HTML verification file that’s linked on your Business settings screen. Remember, don’t make any changes to the file after you download it.
    2. Upload the HTML file to the root directory of your domain.
    3. Go back to Business settings, and click on the link in step 3 to confirm that you can see the verification code on your website.

  • Update the DNS TXT record with your domain registrar
    1. Go to your domain registrar and log in.
    2. Go to the DNS records section.
    3. Go back to your Business settings screen and copy the TXT record in step 2.
    4. Add the TXT record in your DNS configuration by following the instructions from your domain registrar.
    5. Use a DNS TXT lookup tool to confirm the TXT record has been updated across your servers.
Step 5: Click Verify domain on your Business settings screen.
 

After finishing the verification processFacebook will assess your request and validate the verification of your domain. Once confirmed, you can proceed to launch your advertisement campaigns without encountering any problems.
